Overwhelmed by Web 2.0

I just received an e-mail from Rollyo offering an update on their beta program. It’s just one of many Web 2.0 services/apps that I’ve been trying - some of the others include Sphere, Flock, Tailrank, SearchFox and Wordpress. They’re all interesting and some of them are even useful but I feel like I’m at an all-you-can-eat buffet and my appetite is disappearing. What I need is a smart Web 2.0 “portal” where the best services can be presented to meet specific needs. As it now stands, there’s just so much coming down the pipe, it’s hard to know what these services do and if they’re any good - unless they receive all kinds of hype (Flock, for example).

We Say: Maybe someone will take Emily Chang’s eHub, which offers an ever-growing list of Web 2.0 apps, and create something that offers something more focused. Perhaps TechCrunch is a little close to what’s needed but there’s definitely a need to be addressed.
