Microsoft Vista, Office 12 and Anti-Spyware Release Dates “Leaked”

Oh, how gentle some people are. Microsoft “leaks” a release date that is almost a year away and that is meant to somehow soothe the wild throngs and Wall Street analysts. If you’re a betting woman or man, double it and call it a day, but if you are a Vista/Office/Microsoft junkie, we provide this here in case you want to dream:
Windows Vista
Rumors are abound that the RTM date has officially been set for July 25th, 2006. Microsoft is pushing hard for this date to prepare OEM’s for the Christmas season ramp-up. With all of the new sku’s being released, OEM’s and Microsoft have been in talks to prepare them for the madness that will follow the release. A Beta 2 of Vista is expected to be in testers hands on December 16th, 2005.Office 12
Office 12 Beta 1 will be available on MSDN Subscriber downloads within the next few weeks. In a marketing ploy, Microsoft decided to wait in order to build interest up before releasing it to developers.AntiSpyware Beta 2
With rumors of a merge between Windows OneCare and AntiSpyware, The Hotfix has learned that they will indeed be a Beta 2 of AntiSpyware being released. Although an exact date is not yet know, late November 2005 has been a date that has been heard over and over. Source: The Hotfix

It is amazing to me how people can complain about the need to move a release date. Its not like writing an OS is an easy task. They just give you a release date so you will quit tugging at there sleeve. Sit back and relax. When they are ready, they will release the OS. Until then, you have XP and it meets the needs. When Vista is ready, they will release it. The more pressure there is to release it early, the more mistakes will be made that will have to be corrected with SP1 and the more poorly and bulky the code will be.
