Why Building Your Own WiFi Hotspot Could Get You Shot

We love DIY projects, and thought our piece on becoming your own WiFi hotspot was dead on for our readership. But oh, how time changes everything in that very concept. While the biggest factor was cost before the London bombings, today the concept of bringing a solar paneled, WiFi backpack onto a NY subway or London Tube stop is just not advised. Based on recent shoot-to-kill policies, we just wanted to warn our urban readers, that this one is definitely not for you. For those in non-subway states and cities, the information is still an interesting read.

All I can say is: NERD ALERT. But if you have been longing for constant WiFi no matter where you are, why not turn yourself into a WiFi hotspot. Thankfully the gang at Popular Science have all the steps figured out using the new EV-DO cellular network and a clever open source device called the Junxion Box. Now your backpack can weigh even more. (I think mine is up to 40lbs as is.)

What CRAP, the only shoot to kill policy is if you run after being told to halt or stop. Our police are doing a great job of tracking these stupid bombers down before they can do any damage to life or property. If you have enough brains to build your own WIFI spot but not enough to stop & halt when you are told by someone in authourity and holding a gun then you deserve to be shot!! I would rather this happen than to lose so many lives needlessly. So stop scare mongering and being a coward and meet these terrorists head on and carry on with your life as normal then they haven’t beaten you, do this and you’ll be able to build your WIFI hotspot in a back pack in no time and start to live your life as it should be, without fear and in freedom. They want to erode our freedom and they will achive this, if you give into the terroists and live in fear of doing what you want.
