Ultimate Elevator Hack: Press Two Buttons at Once and Head Straight for the Lobby

This is so cool I am going to try it the second I leave tonight. Here’s a hack that will put most elevators in a hidden “Express” mode that bypasses all the floors and sends you right to the lobby. Love it!
“The designers of some elevators include a hidden feature that is very handy if you’re in a hurry or it’s a busy time in the building (like check-out time in a hotel). While some elevators require a key, others can be put into “Express” mode by pressing the “Door Close” and “Floor” buttons at the same time. This sweeps the car to the floor of your choice and avoids stops at any other floor. This seems to work on most elevators that I have tried!
“Most elevators have the option for this to work, but on some of them the option is turned off by whoever runs them. This is a rather fun hack, so the next time you are on an elevator, give it a try, you have nothing to lose.” Source: The Damnblog.com

Good info. I wonder if anyone has tried it in reverse? If it doesn’t work this way, maybe someone could find another hack to go directly to your floor from the lobby.

There’s just one problem with this.
Most buildings have the “Close Door” button disconnected.
Only the “Open Door” button works, for the obvious safety reasons.

Will it work if we press three buttons?
What I mean is, let’s say I have to get back up to work in a hurry, back up on the 83rd floor, but my closet-fling needs to get dumped off at the 49th floor… can i just hold door/close along with the buttons belonging to my and her floors and have the elevator stop only long enough to get her out without that long wait time (as-if)?
Also, will the other 11 or so riders know what i’m doing and get pissed enough to beat me down and take my closet-fling from me?

I have done this at my local hospital so far it has worked 100% but I don’t know if anyone was waitin at floors maybe I was just lucky but who knows I believe it. p.s. it was an otis elevator
