Pop-Ups at #1 just goes to show how many people are still running out of date browsers or are not using anti-popup software.
My #1 complaint is animated ads. I find them extremely distracting when trying to read material and I catch movement on the periphery. As a consequence I’ve decided never to buy anything from an advertiser using this means to distract me.

If you use Mozilla Firefox, you should definitely check out the AdBlock extension. It allows you to block linked-in images and objects on web pages based on URL patterns you create. In short, it blocks ads. Extremely effectively. I am very surprised when I see a banner ad these days, animated or otherwise.
