Digital Pen from Hitachi Maxell

Hitachi Maxell, Ltd. has launched DP-201, a new digital pen with Anoto functionality. The DP-201 is an interface device that can quickly digitize analog information such as handwritten characters, illustrations and drawings easily. The company succeeded in reducing the width by about 15% and the weight by about 20%, compared to the previous DP-101U/B by leveraging on the company’s expertise in optics and circuit technology to integrate optical components into a compact module and reduce the size of electronic components and the circuit board. The digital pen is equipped with both USB and Bluetooth interfaces for connection with PCs and mobile products. The battery charger which doubles up as the USB interface, is a cradle where users can insert the pen with ease as if it is a pen stand.
