HyperKore HK-Xtreme’s Super Modded-Out PC With Disturbing Angry Clown Head
How’s that for a headline, but I have to say, I would love to know if any RTN reader actually dreams of owning an angry clown head PC? The HyperKore HK-Xtreme is hands down the scariest looking system I have ever seen, but alas, our pals at PC Mag gave it a tepid review, especially when you consider a price tag that nears almost $4K without a monitor or speakers.
“The HyperKore HK-Xtreme ($3,806 direct as tested, without monitor) is undoubtedly aimed at the 16- to 35-year-old male gamer, or anyone who doesn’t want a boring-looking box from one of the larger system builders (read: HP, Dell, or Gateway). It certainly isn’t boring. In fact, with the scary clown graphics on the side panel, the HK-Xtreme is not for the squeamish or the coulrophobic (yes, that means “scared of clowns”). Thankfully, the system is available with a multitude of other standard side-panel graphics, including the iconic Bruce Lee, the Batman logo, and game logos like those of Half Life 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004. But for all its uniqueness and flash, there are better choices out there.” Source: PC Magazine Online
Perhaps a name change: The HyperClown? And seriously, if this thing was a screamer, would anyone out there want that in their house?

Yeah, if it glowed green from behind with red eyes. That would be sweet.

Not charging $3800 for $1000 worth of parts would also kick butt.
Almost $4000 bucks should get you a bleeding edge AMD gaming rig…this one is a P4, has only 1 gig of ram and doesn’t even have a monitor. It must be aimed at 16 - 35 year olds with more money than sense.

Ha ha - what a waste of cash! I’m amazed that people still buy stuff like this. As Bob said, it’s maybe $1000 worth of parts (probably less at newegg). Build it yourself, save $3000 for dinner for two in Paris, and spare yourself from looking like a dork who has a clown on his/her computer.

Bleeding Edge? AMD? I dont understand how those two can ever go together…

Even the most crazed Intel fanboy admits that AMD kicks butt in gaming. There isn’t even a debate anymore.

$1000 on newegg? The processor alone is $1000. I read the review and checked out the website… there is a lot of stuff they do to the systems that was not mentioned in the review. I also compared their price to other system builders, they are not over priced and it looks like they don’t just slap the hardware into the case.
BTW… have you even looked at the detail in the clow etching?
