Skype to Offer Video Calling

Saw this on The Register. Will test it out in later today. Here’s hoping Skype can do the same quality for video.

“Skype users can now download a free plug-in from Dialcom that will enable video conferencing using the Skype P2P engine. The Spontania Video4skype, allows any users with a webcam connected to their PCs and a Skype account and broadband Internet access, to make video-calls using the Skype client.

“Dialcom’s Sponania video plug-in is designed to be integrated with any third party VoIP system and Skype just happens to be the first. We’re not quite sure what the business model for Dialcom is, but perhaps, like Skype, there will later be paid versions and add-on sales.” Source: The Register

Skype is also working on their very own video for Skype (so you won’t need to use a 3rd-party plugin).
