Tower Records Declares Bankruptcy Venerable Tower Records announced that it was filing for bankruptcy protection as it gave way to the effects of free downloading. Of course, the name Tower Records was dated 10 years ago when people started buying CDs, but being two jumps behind is simply too much. One has to wonder why they didn't launch Tower Downloads and skip CDs altogether. # Permalink

But try this one on for size: Seventeen percent of video and computer gamers are over the age of 55. I Want My LCD Super Bowl Sunday spells only one thing to a geek: big flat panel TVs are going to get even cheaper. And this year it is ALL about LCDs. One analyst, according to Wired news predicts "the average selling price for LCD TVs larger than 36 inches will drop 40 percent by 2006 to about $3,100." Google Unhappy with Rude Copycat Blurring the line between hoot-a-minute paraody, copycat adult search engine Booble is coming under fire from search master Google.com just as Google is preparing its long awaited public stock offering. Booble launched on Jan 20th and is so popular the site has crashed twice. Doesn't sound like most visitors are laughing. # Permalink
