Michael, you normally hide your pro-PC/anti-MAC bias very well and I commend you for that. You should've deleted the phrase "I hate to say it" when admitting you were considering a MacBook. My daughter (who had never read your column before) commented on this phrase and asked me why you hated to admit it - LOL. Fortunately, I am not in the media and have no reason to worry about any bias - I'm getting me one of these!

Mike, don't forget the catchy tunes they use on their wordless commercials.

"Can you tuck your laptop into a manila envelope? No? Worthless!"

Blah - apple is, and always will be, HYPE.

Do they make a good product - sure, except ipods (how many have had them break - everyone i know of).

Are they worth the premium? HELL NO $2000 apple equals around $1300 or BELOW for a windows machine....doesnt take a brainiac there ;)

Mike

What ever happened to make everyone want to jump on Apple's bandwagon? remember the Amiga bandwagon? There is no reason for people to buy products at a higher price just to say they own a certain brand - my $600 Compaq laptop has been running for a couple years now, 24/7, running folding@home, with no problems at all! Why should I pay the money just to have a fruit on the lid?

People need to wake up and realize that Apple is out to suck you dry, money wise, with no benefit over any other product. Dont get me started on the morons that think the iphone is worth the money..argh.
