What do they say about being naughty at Christmastime? Isaac most likely learned his lesson.
A Canadian dad, , sold his son’s Guitar Hero III game (for the Nintendo Wii) on for $9,100.01 after catching him smoking pot in the backyard with two of his “delinquent” friends.
The auction goes into the gory details (check it out; really, really detailed), but typically for these things, the guy chased around a long time to get this highly desired game for his son. Since the “naughty” behavior seemed to supercede things, he decided to auction it.
He did give people a chance to talk him out of it (like anyone would). In the auction listing, he said:
I know smoking a joint isn’t the end of the world, but if you can convince me that he deserves the gift, then I will end the auction. You will have to be very convincing. I am an elementary school teacher and I know that rewarding bad behavior is just asking for more of the same …
Since the auction actually finished, I think either a) no one tried (likely as GH3 is sold out seemingly everywhere), or b) no one was convincing enough.
According to the auction, the son might get a Wii game, still … perhaps Barbie as the Island Princess or Dancing With the Stars. Frankly, based on how short of Wiis is, I would hope Isaac is happy with just having the console.
We Say: At any rate, my only quibble with the whole thing is the seller’s rating: 92.1%! I would never buy anything this expensive from someone with that low a rating, no matter what. Meanwhile the buyer has a rating of 98.9% (which I still consider kinda low for 270 ratings).
Hopefully all will go well for both sides.

Don’t forget as far as feedback goes… It wasn’t originally going to fetch $9000, maybe something closer to $200. It’s not like they were asking for money order or wire transfer only… Also the way most buyers and sellers on ebay are, they’ll complain and nail you down with bad feedback in an instant, before trying to resolve. It’s becoming difficult to maintain much over 90%. Better than 50% I would imagine…
I doubt if the”winner”ever sends in the payment. If you check the bid history, the bid was shilled from 200 something to over 9000.

I had 3g reception problems (it would fall back to Edge and stick there). The iPhone software update from yesterday (2.02) appears to have fixed the issue (at least “my†issue). I now get a strong clear consistent 3g connection...
great!
