It certainly sounds like magic to me. When my small Sony notebook started over-heating I bought a pad-shaped cooling device that I placed under the unit – not only was pad bigger than my small notebook, it was noisy and certainly killed the point of having a 3.5lb computer. We Say: My office is freezing cold year-round. This could be a great way to heat up a cold space and keep your laptop cool. Strange-looking device, but I’m up for anything that frees me from the monstrous cooling solution I have now.
Kind of defeats the purpose of having a laptop if its too hot to actually hold on your lap. But this is a pretty interesting solution.
I’ve got my laptop sitting on a plastic tray with raised ribs to allow air to circulate and the plastic isn’t too large at all.
I got one of those colling pads myself and the hot air coming out the back of the laptop is just as hot as before! It does keep my lap cooler, but a laptop rest tray or pillow would do the same.
I might try and get one of these since it seems they might actually work!

I’m thinking of getting these, for those chilly winter nights, I can direct the hot air at my balls to keep them warm!

1) Sucking air out of the PC is a bad idea, as the air has to come in from somewhere, carrying dust. BTW, how does that thing actually work?
2) Drawing power from the PC increases, not decreases heat. I bet the thing adds more heat than it removes.
Suggestions to reduce heat production:
1) Use external usb wifi bluetooth dongles, not internal hardware.
2) Use an external powered USB hub.
3) Get a real fan and direct it at the PC.
4) Prop up the back of the laptop with a book.
5) If possible hang corner of laptop where fan is off edge of table (danger people might bump into it)
6) use task manager to shut down unnecessary apps.

very nice magic idea cooler. it actually work. laptop is now cool enough to use on my lap. it could use a more universal mount and a model without speed control or extended USB would be nice. love it
