MvixUSA has finally released a wireless version of their Mvix player. In addition to adding wireless, they went hi-def and even added USB host ports for additional external hard drives, flash drives and external DVD-ROM drives. You can purchase the Wireless Mvix for $329 at the MvixStore.
Hopefully you can access your media files via wireless as well as moving files to the device. You can also purchase a car power adapter for the device so this could easily be a portable wireless storage video server. I wonder if you could stream video to a PSP from the device…
By the way, check out the review we did on Mvix MV-5000U, which was the precursor to the wireless version.

Hmm, how good is the DivX and Xvid support?
I use mostly DivX to compress my DVD’s on my HTPC but wouldn’t mind one of these for my computer room if it handles both fairly well.

[...] After months and months of rumors and speculation, MvixUSA has tipped off the Geeks that the new “NDAS firmware”, version 1.27, is wrapping up beta and should be released this week for the Mvix MX-760HD. NDAS or “Network Direct Attached Storage” will finally enable network file management without having to hack the box (which some hackers have done to add this functionality). [...]
I am not very happy with the mx-780 because the jukebox function does not work as per instruction. I have upgraded the fireware and still nothing. I would also like to know if the player will stop playing after the last track. What I found that it will continue to loop and play first track again, which is annoying for me. I have an internal hard-drive 500megbit and it is about half full. I have been told that it could be a problem managing that many files but why advertise it that it can. Anyway, finally was told that possibly when the firmware upgrade happened from earlier model, that no noticed that the jukebox function does not work and I would need to delete the my list selections and create a jukebox selection that way. Can anyone help with anymore information????
