This is one of those ultra-useful or ultra-unnecessary products depending on how much you fly. The Inflight power charger uses the electricity from an airplane seat’s headphone jack to charge any electronics that power up via a USB connection. This means that a) you need to have a device(s) that can be charged via USB or b) buy a set of charging tips and that c) you have some time to spend re-charging. It takes 3-5 minutes to charge one minute on your device. For long flights, it’s not a bad idea especially if you don’t want to haul around another charger.

The Inflight Power cable uses an internal trickle charger that takes 3-5 min to fully charge, then outputs power to the attached device (phone, music player etc). It does this repeatedly, thus the cable charges the attached device every 3-5 minutes for 1 minute or less. Plug compatible with any standard USB charging cable. The Inflight USB Power unit plugs into the passenger seat audio jack and outputs regulated power to the attached USB charging cable/connector. We Say: Definitely handy to have in your bag, but it’s also another charger to carry around. You also have to have the volume cranked, which makes me wonder what would happen if the whole plane started using these?
