It’s winter and that means that the real men who loved our coverage of the Hemi Grill need a wintertime outlet. Rest easy. Here’s one for the snow and sleet – a V8 Snowblower.

The sad thing is that the same machine could be built just as effectively with a 15hp engine.
Given the available power, it could be designed a lot better. The key change is a larger opening; the engine could handle a lot more snow. While you’re at it, you could power a track vehicle (ie: snowcat) with an enclosed cab and all the ammenities you’d desire.
Or just buy a 250-710hp snowblower instead of building your own.

The blower on the model P-5000-R is powered by a 710hp engine; the vehicle has a 260hp engine. That’s a total of 970hp for getting the job done.

I see that NASAdude is missing the point here. Sure, anyone could purchase a snowthrow’n truck, but where’s the adventure in that. This is Tim Allen on steroids. Whoa yeah!! I wonder if ski’s would work with cruise control? Or maybe convert it to radio controled so I could play with it in the basement.
Ok, so I convinced my wife that like my Harley, a V8 powered snow blower is a necessity, and not some frivolous desire. But before I buy one, I have some pertinent questions:
1; Is there a large selection of chrome accessories to choose from?
2; If I put straight pipes on, will I need to re-jet the carb?
3; Will a detachable windshield help reduce fatigue on long trips?
4; I don’t want to look like all the other V8 throwers out there, so what’s the aftermarket doing for accessories, like, is there an endless supply of mufflers and shiny bolt on stuff to help personalize this thing?
5; What about attire, would a snappy black leather ensemble complete with do-rag, chaps, jockstrap, and a chain attached to my wallet so I always know where it is be out of place?
6; When I attend the annual “throwers†meet this winter in South Dakota, can you recommend a place to stay that’s about 50 miles away so I can trailer there, but look like I walked all the way when I come strolling into town?
7; How many months a year should I operate this thing so I’m not considered a poser?
And finally,
8; Is there a grass cutting attachment available for those long boring out of season summer months?
