Cell phone sim cards are just starting to catch on in the US, but most non-US travelers keep a stash of sim cards to avoid costly roaming charges. (Let’s just say I almost fainted when I got my phone bill after a conference call from London.) Another great use of the sim card is being able to switch to a new phone with ease – I gave my unused Motorola phone to an employee who lost his (I have switched to the Samsung P777 – more on that later) and he just popped in his sim and was up and running – phone book, pics and all. But today there is even better news. A Chinese company has figured out a way for cell phone users to swap between 2 sim cards without physically removing them – the TwinSim is perfect for travel between two countries you do business in the most, or even for phones you share with your employer. Card A gets billed to the company, card B calls you pay for and best of all, you don’t have to turn off the phone to switch cards.

Chinese manufacturer Guangzhou Better International has come up with a nifty universal dualsim card which enables you to manage two GSM Sim cards in one mobile phone. With some countries having differing tariffs which makes it highly economical to have more than one sim card, and in situations where people have one cell phone for work and another for personal use, the TwinSim is certain to be a huge seller as it enables the user to switch between two sim cards (that is, different telephone numbers) without turning off their cell phone. It enables the switching of two numbers automatically or selecting manually to use just one number. Source: Gizmag
