What a bunch of hoakum.
“If perception is indeed the ONLY reality, then Alan Hirsch of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation (STTRF) appears to have invented the legendary “elixir of youth†and it’s not a magical potion, and doesn’t require injections or surgery. It only works for women and it only works on men, but a few sprays of the STTRF Timeless View is all it takes to change the perception of men about a woman’s age. A preliminary clinical study has found that men perceived women who wore this formula to be an average of six years younger than their actual age. Bottles of this supposedly “revolutionary fountain-of-youth mist†are available over the web for US$29.95 for women who wish to “spray away” the years.
“Alan R. Hirsch, M.D., director of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, created Timeless View based on more than 25 years of research on human sensory function. He recently presented a study on Timeless View to the American Psychiatric Association’s Annual Meeting in Atlanta, which illustrated how his patent-pending blend of scents (which includes pink grapefruit and others), affected male perception of female age.
“Timeless View is used the same way that you use other body sprays – simply mist yourself with a few sprays of the pleasant-smelling aroma and according to Dr. Hirsch, the spray reduces anxiety and elevates a sense of well-being among men who smell it.
“The aroma appears to convince the male brain to take a more optimistic view of physical attributes of those women wearing it,” said Dr. Hirsch. “However, only men are affected by this combination of scents. An interesting aspect of this product is that the same results do not occur for women viewing men or women viewing other women.” Source: Gizmag

New Spray Impacts Perception – Takes Six Years Off a Woman’s Age
This sounds phony to me, but there may be something to it, so read on: Alan R. Hirsch, M.D., director of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, created Timeless View based on more than 25 years of research on human sensory function. He re…
Alcohol has been doing this for years, you simply drink it instead of spraying it!
Ok, I was at a taping of NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” a few weeks back and they talked about a similar news article from that week, but the “extra special secret formula” was grapefruit. Just grapefruit. As in, studies conducted showed that, when exposed to the scent of grapefruit juice, men perceived womens’ ages to be five years younger on average, both for photographs of women and viewing women in person.
This would appear to be a link on the subject, but I can’t access it from work, so if it’s gibberish I apologize:

I have to assume that the grapefruit study is somehow related to this “Timeless View” snake oil, the results sound far too similar, but if you’re realy curious you might want to try eating a grapefruit at breakfast before shelling out huge amounts money for a bottle of distilled citrus oil.
Wasn’t grapefruit supposed to melt off fat if you only ate it and nothing else, or chased/started a meal with a large helping? Maybe women can go on the grapefruit diet and look 6 years younger as well as thinner at the same time? Wonder what else it does and if this study was comissioned by the Florida grapefuit growers association?
ReatTechNews Men – does the smell of grapefruit do anything for you? Be honest. My mother got a Pottery Barn soap and lotion dispenser set that was “pink grapefruit” – it’s in the guest bathroom and it makes me want to gag all day the smell is that overpowering. But then again, I always feeel like I look rested and younger when I am at my parent’s house…hmmmmmm
The smell of grapefruit actually tends to repel me unless it’s very faint. A grapefruit sliced in half and sitting in a bowl in front of me actually has very little scent, and that’s fine, but an artificial grapefruit scent is pretty harsh. Certainly never noticed that it’s made me more attracted to the opposite sex.
