I have never been so happy to be on a different blogging platform than today. (We use WordPress!) Reports are coming in that Blogger’s problems have goten so bad, people are up in arms.
“Enter “Blogger sucks” in Google and you get 720,000 results, with most of the entries on the first few pages (read: the most popular) dedicated to these exasperating tech snafus. It can make for some pretty ugly reading. Imagine what they might say if they actually paid for the service?
“But if you look at Blogger’s status page, which lists service outages, you can see why they are so mad. Monday April 4, 2005: “Some users may be experiencing an unexpected Blogger outage.”
“Friday, April 1, 2005: “Some BlogSpot blogs are currently receiving error messages that say ‘EOF while reading from control connection’ when publishing.”
“Wednesday, March 30, 2005: “We’ve had to roll back to an earlier build this morning in order to fix some outstanding publishing bugs. This has had stability implications which we are now in the process of addressing.” Source: Wired News

Yeah, Blogger is simply unacceptable for running any kind of blog in its current state. I feel sorry for those still using it, and I’m glad you switched:)
Blogger was pretty bad. Kind of like being on slow dialup. I did like the way it was set up, if only it had actually worked.
Me too. I can’t tell you how many posts I lost when it crashed, or the extra time needed to make back-ups of every post and then praying it would go through. It’s ironice that Google owns them and prides itself of using racks of cheap PC hardware for searching. Why not buy some more racks for Blogger?
The reason I stayed with Blogger was the ease in which you could change the templates and tinker. But then when it came time to publish the changes…man, that delay was totally unacceptable.
Glad you changed! It’s fun going to your site now.
The only plus for Blogger: The Blog tools are free and you don’t need to pay anyone to host the blog. I would go to WordPress also because their blog tools are free, but I can’t afford a Hosting Service such as Hosting Matters or DreamHost.
There is another big drawback to Blogger – no posting categories.
I think the problems were fixed when they repaired a kernel update that had caused all of the trouble
