eBay Surprises Everyone With New Global Classified Ads Site
Last year it was leaked out that eBay owned 25% of craigslist, a Bay Area cult favorite for posting job advertisements and selling personal possessions, finding apartments for rent, and so on. Craigslist has gone on to have a presence in other cities and countries, but today, we found out that eBay was taking classifieds globally with a new classified website called kijiji.com. The work "kijiji" means village in Swahili and even though it is hard to spell and even pronounce, based on the web's history of loving odd names like Google and Yahoo and even eBay, that alone probably means it will do well.
