We Changed Our Name!
When we started our blog, we had no idea who would read it except ourselves of course, so we named it Alice and Bill. But now that we're growing and want to expand the coverage to include people who write for us now and then, we were advised to find a new name that said technology and not beholden to advertisers. After months of searching, when it looked like the only .com URL left in the world was doorknobhandlesandbyttonsforpeace.com, we found something ideal:

Real Tech News
. It says it all. Same great content, lots more of it planned, and a grownup URL for a very immature bunch of tech nuts!

I like the new name. I think it captures the essence of the site pretty well.

BTW, I noticed that on the comment post it still reads "Alice and Bill.com"

And
[title]Alice and Bill.com - Independent Tech[/title]

and no favicon.ico for RTN

Psst. www.realtechnews.com takes me back to Jan 31.

But wasn't that a good day?

Woo! Good name! Congrats!!

The page that lists comments should refer to /images/RTnews_smaller.gif, but refers to images/RTnews_smaller.gif instead, making it 404. Also, the /favicon.ico says "AH" (and is the wrong size -- it should be 16x16, not 32x32)... I'm not sure what AH means (shouldn't it have been AB?) but some variant of RTN would probably make more sense...

You gonna try that click-through ad business again, what with the new name and all?

I hear that there are greedy lawyers paying $100.00 per clickthrough...post their ads and I'll click-em for you.

OR, what about "really not tech news" by Alice & Rush?

Ok, just make sure you tell us if your feed URL changes.

Oh, and good job getting that feed linking thing fixed.

I would recommend

http://www.hardwareguys.com/

Particularly their forums:

http://forums.hardwareguys.com/ikonboard.cgi

It's run by a really good O'Reilly author:

http://www.oreillynet.com/cs/catalog/view/au/422

Scott Kitterman

And in other news, Slashdot changes its name to AliceAndBill

How about:

aliceandsomeotherpeople.com ???

I think I fixed most of the problems. Thanks for hanging in there and glad you like the new name. Finding something remotely close to what this site is about was no picnic!

if you find other bugs let me know. I am working on the temlates and linka nd will eventuall move it all to the new domain and then have the aliceandbill.com redirect.
good times!

Alice- I found a small ant crawling across my computer screen. Looks like the cold weather is driving them indoors. Since you asked, I thought I'd let you know.

Hey Alice...GREAT MOVE, I am a huge fan of your website. Can't wait to see what is posted next! You are my GOD!!!

if there's something that Survivor and American Idol has taught us, it's that Reality sells.... so it's a gread idea to use RealTechNews... plus, it shows that you are bound to one or two things, it shows your independance. Awesome choice, looking forward to whats around the next bend!

So, ahh why isn't realtechnews.com as current as aliceandbill.com?

Which part of, "I am working on the temlates and links and will eventually move it all to the new domain and then have the aliceandbill.com redirect" in the comment four above yours did you not understand, Todd?

How about "Hardware Wars"
Or better yet "The HardEdge"

How about "AliceInIwonderLandAnd DontForgetBill.com

when I want to log into your old site it wants me to save a file?
