New Oxyride Battery to Be Sold in the U.S.
At Last They Screamed, At Last, Dept: A new battery technology will soon be hitting US shores (April 2005) from Matsushita Corp., otherwise known as Panasonic.

The new technology called Oxyride, short for Oxy Nickel Hydride, delivers a 1.5 increase in lifespan over a regular alkaline battery. "Reporters were also shown audio players powered by a regular battery vs. Oxyride. The one with Oxyride delivered a stronger, deeper bass, and Matsushita officials said some music experts express a preference for Oxyride."

Not sure if we believe anyone on a lavish Japanese press junket, but the 1.5X boost sounds like progress.

Well what's missing is the mAh rating of the battery to really compare it to others. As for it making music sound better, that's only for the fools who buy $300.00 RCA patch cables for their stereos.

I think it's a little more troubling that the "1.5v" Oxyride is closer to 1.7v. That's going to be a bad kick in the butt for some electronice devices. As for the mAh rating, they don't even list it in their catalog.

I saw this yesterday Alice, you really should post the car (the Oxyride), not a pic of a cheesy alkaline. Cool stuff if the battery is actually revolutionary, we really need some innovation in that department.

That better? Who says we don't treat our interns well?

I liked the cheesy picture better.

As far as making things sound better, riiight.

I would think that line is for the easly swayed and ill-informed about how things work. Lasting longer, yes, sounding better, no.

It looks good, but now maybe we should put an explanation of why there is a car there? :). For those who are wondering, its a one person vehicle powered by 2 of those darling Oxyride AA batteries.

JD - in the words of Rick Nelson, "You can't please everyone..."

Well, I like cars. And you've just handled the explanation. ;-)

I'm just a cheesy kind of guy.

And what will it do for the sex toys, now its even "harder" for a normal none blue pill guy to have a good run ?

this doesn't make any sense, this sucks, this site also sucks...

Do they make digital pictures better to?
