WE'RE BACK!
Sorta, at least for a 90 day not-so-free trial. PC Magazine Online has picked up your humble correspondents for a tentative go at a new column called, "The Tech Edge." Yeah, I know, more for you to read... But it's us. The column is out now. Do I have to say it?

Time for me to cancel CShopper and get PC Magazine...

Well, actually, I couldn't find my username. Nice job, Alice and Bill - may it come out in print after a while!

Will from Lafayette, Colorado

Congratulations on your gig with PC Mag. I hope things turn out well for you whether you stay or not.

What will this mean for aliceandbill.com?

Excellent, i already subscribe

Congratulations and best wishes on the new gig! Just knew it was a matter of (a short) time!

Scott-

It should mean nothing for AliceandBill.com. You have trust us. After 12+ years together (and both of us going back further than that independently), Alice and I value a commercial magazine presence but also realize that no one can can us from here except ourselves or you guys, the readers. Our egos are so big that we'd never can ourselves. If we do something that gets you guys to jump ship then we deserve to be canned. But all of that revolves around this site, which we consider our home now.

Cheers,
I previously informed Computer Shopper I would not be renewing my subscription; due to the departure of Hard Edge. I already subscribe to PC Mag... will have to check my subscription status.
Congratulations! Good Luck!

You don't need no stinkin' subscription, Ambrose. It's on the web page. A freebie!

I do hope PC Mag online gets some better links to your page, though.

From the breadcrumbs at the top of your PC Mag page I would expect you to be linked from the "Opinions" page, but you aren't. Makes it kind of hard to find you except by the link from your blog or the front-page link from PC Mag itself.

You'd think, wouldn't you? We've noticed some of the shorcomings and are "making inquiries" even as we speak. It may be that they don't want to go through the effort because it's a time trial, but jeez, not even our bios?

Sometimes you just have to make lemonade. ;-)

Good luck with the column. I have to say though that I stopped buying that mag a few years ago. It costs 7.99 in Canada, and with the provincial tax it's about 8.50. It's just not worth it...it has a few useful tips, but you can get the content free on the web. I'd rather come to your web site and others for information. I'm surprised anyone subscribes...what keeps these mags going? Too bad...ten years ago I bought every issue and couldn't wait for them to come out, but the internet has made them redundant. Computer Shopper was the best, and the last one I used to buy, but not without you guys...

I am glad I started a subscription to PC Mag a while back I will deffently drop computer shopper now.

I do not have a webb site to set up a blogger site.

keep up the good work Bill (twohoosiers@att.net)

Is Alices' picture going to be the only one shown? Or do we have to look at your's too? If so, could you at least comb your beard?

I'm the one who asked if Alice was still as foxy looking as the old picture showed her.

Dammit, she did look pretty hot in that picture. Bill even looked, uh, distinguished.
