'Tis the Season to be Shopping...
As we start the hardcore shopping season, just a reminder: This is also the hardcore rip-you-off season for scam artists online. Don't leave your credit card numbers at shopping sites, don't give away your password, don't fall for e-mail requesting that you confirm or update your user info. Just be smart.

Ohh Come on, Stop scaring folks. If done with a bit of common sense, online shopping with a credit card can be one of THE safest ways to shop. Credit cards in general are very well protected from fraud. I own a small online store, and I am frankly tired of scare mongers telling peeps it is dangerous.(well it can be, if your a grandma, best stay away from online) But the rest of us should be fine. Use your brain, look into the site if you have doubts. But remeber only use credit cards, not debit cards.

Oh Todd... You mean it's not that safe? You should only use a credit card? Why is that that? Are they safer? So if you can be scammed on your debit card, you certainly can be scammed just as easily on your credit card. Or is it generally just easier to get your money back once you've been scammed if you use a credit card? Or maybe not even all credit card companies are the same when it comes giving money back?

Your kind of misinformation in an age of key loggers and phishers, plain old scam artists and e-thieves, is part of the problem. And, if you can read any better than you can reason, point out where I scared anyone or if I just passed along sound advice.
