Stern Gets Sirius
Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, no.... It's SuperStern! Yes, it's SuperStern, strange visitor from another planet, who came to earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men! SuperStern! Who can change the minds of mighty regulators, bend rules in his bare hands; And who, disguised as Howard the Meek, Mild-mannered broadcaster for a yellow-backed Metropolitan radio station, fights a never-ending battle for BOOBS, LUSTING, and HIS OWN WAY!

And now another exciting episode in THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERSTERN!!!

Alice's Turn: Say what will about Howard, but the deal is being heralded a major kick-off to a new broadcast medium, similar to when Milton Berle left radio for television, and when network TV stars left the broadcast networks for the new world of cable. The deal also helps a very struggling Sirius, who only needs to sign up 1 million new customers to support the 5-year, $500 million deal. Stern has an estimated audience of 12 million listeners, so even a 10% conversion rate will spell some serious green for Sirius. I actually predicted that one sattelite radio company would fold by the end of the year, ironically, XM Satellite has a larger user base and more marketing and car deals, but this is a watershed moment in technology. Who knew that Howard would be the killer app?

Back atcha:
You can put bat crap in a bag and make good money selling it as exotic fertilizer. It's still bat crap.

As a sirius subscriber, I really hope it dosen't loose out to XM. Call me bitter, but I think clearchannel needs to loose a wager somewhere.

As a pilot in training, I really hope XM dosen't go under either, the weather data service for IFR flight they provide is top noch.

I heard vague talk about some way to receive both patforms on one unit. Anyone hear more on that? Are we back to the PC and Mac dueling platform mess?

BAT CRAP?? Bill, you really dissapoint me, I guess I figured you would be a Howard fan. Howard going to Sirius sealed the deal for me, I'm signing up with Sirius and getting a new H/U for the truck to control it. I would pay the monthly rate for decent reception of Howard's show alone, without the music! Right now, I'm listening to a station 50+ miles away and some days it's impossible to hear it.

If you don't like him, that's ok (I'm only slightly dissapointed in you), listen to someone else, but I'm so happy that the show, and other shows too, can do what they want, without having to worry about getting fined by the FCC when someone says a naughty word, and it slips out..
