Glimpse of Half-Life 2
BBC News has a piece on a re-vamped version of Counterstrike that will offer a glimpse at the long-awaited Half Life 2 expected to hit store shelves in November. A guy who used to work for me at CNET's Gamecenter is the product manager of the Half Life series and he is quoted in the article, so shouts out to Doug Lombardi and Valve. As you may know, Half Life 2 will run on a new engine called "Source." Here are some details from the BBC article:
"But fans who cannot wait have been able to sample some of the features promised by the Source engine as Valve has used it to power a new version of Counter-Strike. However, the game can only be bought as part of a Half-Life 2 bundle via Valve's online delivery system called Steam. Counter-Strike: Source can be played immediately, but Half-Life 2 is locked until the game is officially released in the shops."
