Bud's New Caffeinated Beer to Launch in November
Ok, so this may not be the most ground-breaking of technical announcements, but it shows how much the impact of Red Bull Energy Drink is having on other beverages. I used to write CNET's weekly Digital Dispatch newsletter after downing a Red Bull and could pop out an issue in under an hour. Even after that, I still wanted to run around the block with my hands in the air.

The new beer will be infused with caffeine, guara and ginseng and will have 6.6 percent alchohol by volume. Is it just me, or does this sound horrible-tasting? And you can't drink one at work, where most geeks love to imbibe their energy drinks.

Wow.
Now you too can have both the energy AND the judgement of a 4 year old!
I'm actually excited to see what this does to the guys who would have normally collapsed in a corner and started snoring.

Blah, Blah, Blah. Get up with the times. This is just another Alco-Pop just like all the others that have been around for the last 10 years. It's pretty much aimed straight at the youth market. I guess making it a 'beer' will make it more acceptable for males to drink though...

Is it just me, or does this sound horrible-tasting?It's a Bud. How would you tell?

Give me a Guinness any day.

Ohh yeah, and the cherry flavor is going to be real appealing. Its not beer, its a wine cooler with caffine.

Personally I think putting caffeine in alcohol is a bit risky, especially since this will appeal to your stereotypical binge drinking college kid. Not only does this kid drink ALOT, but now he can drink ALOT MORE before his system shuts down for the night.

Oh, and if you think hangovers are bad now, try it after drinking a twelve pack of this cruft on Saturday night. Not only will you be pissed out of your mind, you'll have 648 milligrams of caffeine in your system keeping you awake until Sunday afternoon. But look on the bright side, after being that dehydrated and drunk for so long, you won't have to worry about getting to work on Monday morning with that blood clot in your head.

Sean.

Right, now you can stay awake all night and drink even more awful Bud.
