Bill Gates: A model for the future
Bill's Rant About Bill: You could read the story. It has to do with the transition of our current entertainment industry because new and better business models are being made possible by emerging technology. Me, personally, I get the heebee-jeebees whenever Microsoft thinks it has a vision of the future. All you have to do is look back on the history of delays and bugs in Windows, and the construction of Windows as layers and layers of patched, re-patched, and re-re-patched code to have cold chills run up and down your spine. I think I'd rather have Mickey Mouse in charge of the future... or is that redundant?
Alice Chimes In: I totally agree with Bill, Bill O. that is, not Bill G. I used to have the Microsoft press kit for a version of Windows (I forgot the name dammit) that was to run washing machines and TVs and so on. Embedded Windows? This was early 90s when Windows 3.1 was considered cutting edge OS technology (snort), and before the Web, so let's not worry about the timing on this new vision of everything in the home runing Windows. It's same old, same old.
