Cell phone users rude!
According to a survey of wireless phone subscribers commissioned by ATT Wireless, 42percent responded that most Americans rarely or never use their cell phone in a courteous manner. Yet 95 percent said that they themsleves are courteous, at least most of the time.
So that means they know what rude behavior is in others but they can't quite figure it out for themselves. Oh great...
How about some clues:
1. Turn off the darn thing when you're going in to vote.
2. Use the vibrate function instead of the ringer when possible.
3. If you must use the ringer, keep it to a short tone.
4. Don't YELL into the phone.
5. Don't talk on your phone while you're ording from a clerk.
6. Go somewhere private to make or answer a call.
7. Don't take a picture of a stranger unless you're looking for trouble.
8. Don't make or answer calls while you're driving (and put down the coffee, croissant, and the NY Times too; you're driving a car, not sitting in your living room).
9. Don't ever, ever use your phone if you're in a bus I'm also on.
10. Your friends/loved ones don't need to know where you are every 15 minutes and even though it may be your first mobile phone, no one else will be impressed when you call and ask, "Hey, guess where I am?!"
