Christmas Cost Rises
Those bountiful gifts given during the Twelve Days of Christmas are on the rise again. Although down for 2002, and in the face of gold and pear tree prices dropping, look to pay 16% additional this year. Dancers, pipers, and drummers are up but the real culprits in 2003 are the swans 'a swimming and calling birds, which have risen nearly 66% and 26%, respectively. "As in the past, most items are more expensive to buy over the Internet, primarily due to the cost of shipping, which has gone up this year," says the 19th Annual PNC Advisers report.
